Lucy Caroline Dappert, daughter of John and Catherine (Silveus) Dappert, born 13 April, 1864 in Holmes Co., Ohio, married Elmer Shover on Sept. 11, 1889 at her parents' home south of Taylorville, Il. They started housekeeping at Indianapolis, Indiana., where Elmer was in the teamster business with his brothers. Their children were John Henry Shover, born Nov., 16, l890, Ona Hazel Shover born 15 August, 1892, and Elmer Ellsworth Shover born June 6, 1899. All are deceased now. The family moved to Taylorville, Il., about 1900. Then they moved to Gary, Indiana, about 1906. Elmer worked as a teamster in Gary when the city was just beginning --starting the steel mills. 40th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY observed: GRIFFIN couple was married 40 years ago today, May 21, 1971. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Griffin, well-known residents of Taylorville, Illinois, who reside at 103 West Poplar Street, are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary today. No formal celebration has been planned. Mr. Griffin and Bernadine Durbin were married 28 May, 1931 in the Methodist parsonage at Springfield. The Rev. Herbert Hines performed the ceremony.
